had enough...
Y'know... I know intellectually that he's just TWO and he's tired of being locked in a car and his nap schedule is screwed up and he's in a different hotel every night and that it is, in a very real sense really not his fault that he's having trouble getting to sleep at night, but... unfortunately that intellectual knowledge does not keep me from wanting to SMOTHER HIM WITH A PILLOW when he's still screaming at 10:00 PM.
Anyway... everyone else is asleep and I spent some time tonight sitting in the lobby of a (very old) Holiday Inn trying to decide whether to walk over to the TGIFriday's off the lobby and get liquored up, or to drive over to the strip club that Mapquest assures me is a mere 3.4 miles away.
In the end, I did neither. I'm currently sitting by the pool, catching up on my backlog of blog feeds, and writing one more quick post.
If the news media and our realtor are to be believed "Dennis" spared our former home and the surrounding area, which is good. The last thing we wanted to deal with was long-distance property repairs.
Speaking of the news... my wife insisted on listening to CNN all day on the Sirius radio in the car. Now, for a moment I will set aside the issues raised bay listening to TV ON THE RADIO and focus on just what CRAP passes for news on CNN. The people on that channel just talk and talk and talk and talk... it doesn’t matter if they are saying anything, it doesn't matter if anything is happening... they just prattle on and on and on... and most of what they say is just such INANE GARBAGE that it makes me FUCKING CRAZY. And then we got to listen to Anderson Cooper nearly get decapitated by a flying Ramada Inn sign like 7 times, after which Wolf Blitzer praised them all for their "fine journalism".
When the hell did "standing in the rain" become "fine journalism"??
