missing the point of "security"...

Like many universities, my school is becoming more and more draconian in its copying policies. I think officially we are not supposed to copy anything longer than 4 pages for our classes. (Jesus, my SYLLABUS is 8 pages!!) In order to help them police their copier, the Dean's office assigned everyone an individual 4-digit copy code, and the fancy copier keeps track of how many copies you have made.

The thing is... I noticed when I was given my 4 digit code, that they were handing them out IN NUMERICAL ORDER beginning with 1000. Which means, I forgot mine long ago, and now when I want to make copies, I just enter a random number between 1000 and 1100.

Great "system", guys!! Hope you didn't pay any consultants to help you come up with this idea.
