queer as clowns...

Dave isn't usually one for the hate crimes, but something about Rooney Doodle really, really makes me want to punch him in the face. It's not the gay thing.(**) Dave has no problem with the Gays. But I do hate clowns. I mean.... really, REALLY hate clowns. And there is something about the overt gayness of this particular clown that inspires a violent negative reaction more potent than any I've ever experienced towards a children's television character. Perhaps moreso even than the Purple-Dinosaur-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.

(** If you think Dave is stereotyping a run of the mill clown as "homosexual" simply because of his flamboyant appearance, you've clearly never seen the show. But if you doubt me, you can check out Rooney's only other acting credit.)
