out of the closet...
For reasons still somewhat unclear to me, we're installing a custom "Pax" closet system into the master bedroom. Purchasing said closet system involved not only a certain amount of "consultation" with the IKEA closet planner guy, but sitting around for a half-hour while they pull all the pieces from the warehouse. All this with two evil little children running around and fighting and screaming at one another. Add another 20 minutes of trying to figure out how to get five 8' long by 24" wide boxes into the van, and you may just be able to imagine the scope of the headache I had yesterday afternoon.
So... there is $800 worth of closet-fixin's sitting in our foyer. This Friday I get to empty the closet... tear out the existing wire shelves, spackle the wall-holes, and then generally keep the kids at bay while my wife assembles FIVE giant pieces of IKEA furniture. (The wife has inherited the job of furniture assembly. It's like a puzzle. She enjoys it. Totally fucking fine with me.) The end result will be a beautiful, well-organized closet with considerably LESS storage space than it had before. But you didn't hear that from ME...
