the hives on letterman...

I wanted to like the Hives, but I found their "gimmickyness" too distracting. Why to they dress like the Kinks circa 1965? And what's with all the Mick-Jaggeresque bug-eyed strutting? It didn't seem right to be watching it on a color TV. And this morning I can't tell you a thing about what they SOUNDED like.

I do like that the fat guitarist plays a little $80 pawn shop guitar, but other than that... I think I'm still about 0-for-4 when it comes to liking overhyped bands named The "Blanks"
